✈️ UK – Venice (3 nights): We’ll first fly you from the UK to Venice, where you’ll be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel for the first three nights of your Italian adventure. Built across 188 islands and interlaced by 177 canals, Venice is a city like no other. Wander its traffic-free streets and bridges, taking in iconic landmarks such as the Bridge of Sighs, the Rialto Bridge, St Mark’s Square and the Doge’s Palace. Getting around on foot is easy, but if you’d prefer to see the city from the water, hop in a vaporetto (water bus) or treat yourself to a romantic gondola ride with a serenading gondolier. For a dose of modern culture, visit the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, one of Europe’s most charming and accessible modern art museums.
🚆 Venice – Florence (3 nights): On your final morning in Venice, board the train for the two-hour journey to Florence, the birthplace of the Renaissance. Sitting on the banks of the River Arno, Florence is a masterpiece in itself, an open-air gallery filled with art, architecture and history. Explore the world-renowned Uffizi Gallery, home to works by Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci and Piero della Francesca, and don’t miss Michelangelo’s David at the Accademia Gallery. Much of Florence is pedestrianised, so it’s perfect for exploring on foot. Stroll through the Piazza della Signoria, admire the Palazzo Vecchio, and marvel at the magnificent Duomo. For one of the best panoramic views of the city, head up to the Basilica di San Miniato al Monte, the climb is well worth it.
🚆 Florence – Rome (3 nights): Next, take the train south to Rome (approximately two hours), where you’ll spend the next three nights exploring Italy’s captivating capital. From the architectural treasures of the Colosseum and the Pantheon to the splendour of Saint Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City, the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps, Rome is a city where history, culture and charm meet at every turn. Between sightseeing, take time to simply stroll through the cobbled streets, pause for an espresso in a sunlit piazza, and watch the world go by as only the Romans can.
🚆 Rome – Sorrento (5 nights): From Rome, you’ll take the train to Naples, where we’ll meet you and transfer you to your hotel in Sorrento (or, if you prefer, you can pick up a hire car). Elegant and full of Mediterranean character, Sorrento is the perfect finale to your Italian journey. With its spellbinding coastal views, lively piazzas, boutique shopping and fantastic dining, it’s a town made for exploring at your own pace. Discover the charming old town, with its cobbled streets and landmarks such as the monastery and Church of San Francesco. From Sorrento, it’s easy to explore the Amalfi Coast, with postcard-perfect towns like Amalfi, Positano and Ravello. Alternatively, take a trip to Pompeii, the fascinating ancient city buried by the eruption of Vesuvius in 76 AD. A day trip to the glamorous islands of Capri or Ischia is also highly recommended.
✈️ Sorrento – UK: On your final day in Sorrento, we’ll transfer you back to Naples Airport for your flight home to the UK. If you’ve hired a car, you can simply drop it off at the airport before departing.
